Family and
Consumer Science
                                        
Family and Consumer Science is offered to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.

It is a 1/2 year class stressing food and nutrition, clothing and sewing.  The food

and nutrition unit is designed to teach the students how to read a recipe and a

food label, basic measurement, nutrients, basic cooking skills, and safety and

sanitation in the classroom.  During the clothing and sewing unit, the students

learn to read a pattern, do layouts and cutting, clothing care, basic hand sewing

and mending, and stain removal.
